We are ready for some football!
Wow, summer really is over. The 100 degree weather is still here but we have professional football on TV.
Welcome back.
Everyone is completely optimistic about their teams when they are 0-0. I look forward to seeing what team surges ahead early in the season, looks unbeatable and then fades away (Buffalo last year). I also enjoy the team that pathetically holds on all season just to flub it at the end. (Bengals last year.)
Hard to say how my beloved Dawgs handle this year. Last year was either an aberration or a trend. My heart says it was a fluke but I can't help but think Butch Davis is over-matched in the NFL. (OK, maybe Mike Martz is even *MORE* overmatched than Butch, but that's not saying much.)
I think the team has to improve from 5-11. The real question is how much more. I will be bold and put them at 9 wins. If Garcia ever gets into rhythm with his WRs and Winslow, they could be very good. (Also, that mean Garmon will have to PASS block, the man is a liability out there!)
So, here's to the Dawgs putting down the Ravens 24-13 and 100+ yards for William Green.
Woof woof.
